Optional for contacting PIN with sensors of medical equipment

Medical equipment design is highly dependent on efficient underlying electronic interconnection systems. Therefore, the design of connectors and the selection of correct connectors are very important.

In designing medical equipment, engineers will face many challenges and extremely complex choices that will not occur in other industries. Medical equipment needs to have enough durability and reliability, and the use conditions are often very harsh. The influencing factors include liquid, disinfection and sterilization, physical and electromagnetic interference, and extremely high insertion times.

These medical devices are highly dependent on the effectiveness of the underlying electronic interconnection system. Connector design is an indispensable part of the design process. Optional connector Odoramo Connector (ODU Connector) (HRS Connector) is critical.

Decide on the applicable options

The first factor that engineers need to consider is whether to use ready-made connectors, hybrid versions or customized solutions. Off-the-shelf products are already on the market and have a variety of configurations to choose from. Such products often require lower investment in engineering and tooling, but have a long lead time and higher unit cost. Hybrid versions provide customized overmolded features on existing connectors. Compared with existing products, these products improve performance and aesthetic value. Compared with fully customized connectors, their design cost and engineering cost are lower, but the lead time is longer. Customized solutions (custom) are products designed and manufactured for specific customers, equipment or applications. Custom connectors will make it easier to integrate components or electronic components, and to add marking or logo. Initial investment in engineering and mold manufacturing is generally high, but based on production, such solutions will be more cost-effective in the long run.
