Transfer larger files, charge faster, and use in more demanding environments. This means that traditional connectivity solutions cannot be satisfied. Although universal serial bus (USB) and micro USB connector have been the common standard choice for device connection since the 1990s, USB type-C is becoming the preferred connector for today's consumer products because it provides better performance in power and data transmission. Customers need real ipx8 waterproof USB type-C connectors (i.e. those tests to prevent water from entering water immersion up to one meter). In this paper, we will study the advantages of USB type-C connector, and discuss the selection and design of waterproof USB type-C connector.
